As a member of this team, I agree to:

• Represent Jesus Christ as well as LifePointe Christian Church. I will model Jesus in my lifestyle, behavior, and attitude both stateside and on the trip.

• Remember that I am a guest working at the invitation of my hosts. I will remember the missionary’s prayer, “Where you lead me I will follow; what they feed me I will swallow.”

• Remember that we have come to learn as well as to teach. I'll resist the temptation to inform our hosts about “how we do things.” I'll be OPEN to learning about other people’s methods and ideas. 

• Respect the host’s view of Christianity recognizing that Christianity has many faces throughout the world and that the purpose of this trip is to experience faith lived out in a new setting.

• Develop and maintain a servant attitude toward all nationals and my teammates.

• Respect my team leader(s) and his or her decisions.

• Refrain from gossip, before, during and after the trip.

• Refrain from complaining. I know that travel can present numerous unexpected and undesired circumstances, but the rewards of conquering such circumstances are innumerable. Instead of whining and complaining, I'll be creative and supportive.

• Attend all team meetings before the trip as well as any follow-up meetings. You may miss one meeting but it is MY responsibility to touch base with my leaders for the information I missed.

• Remember not to be exclusive in relationships. If my best friend, family member, or spouse/significant other is on the team, we will make every effort to interact with all the members of the team. If I am attracted to a teammate, I will not attempt to pursue a relationship until after we return home. 

• Refrain from any activity that could be construed as romantic interest in a national or teammate.

• Refrain from the use of illegal drugs, alcoholic beverages, tobacco products or any other behavior that would hinder the Christian ministry while on this trip.

• Observe and practice the LifePointe Christian Church Statement of Faith. (Check LCC website)

• Refrain from the teaching or practice of any belief that would not be endorsed by LifePointe Christian Church (infant baptism, etc.). For clarification or if unsure about this issue, pleasetalk to your trip leader or a member of LCC leadership or pastoral staff.

• I agree to abide by the fund-raising procedures endorsed by LifePointe Christian Church and will PERSONALLY THANK all financial donors that contribute to my trip.

• Remember that I can be sent home at my expense if I do not adhere to this Covenant or ifmy Team Leader believes it is in my best interest or that of the team.

• Consistently attend weekend worship services at LifePointe Christian Church. 75% attendance is recommended.

Volunteer projects can be extremely strenuous and stressful. They may include long rides in the back of a van. Travelers are almost always required to carry their own luggage. Rest rooms are not always readily accessible. The food may not be what you are accustomed to eating. Fruits and vegetables may not be available or advisable to eat. The housing and meeting locations may not have air conditioning and may not have adequate heating/cooling. We may request a medical release statement from your doctor.

In being accepted and allowed to participate in activities associated with LifePointe Christian Church, I assume responsibility for my actions. I release LifePointe Christian Church and Agents from liability, loss, or damage to my property or myself. Nothing contained herein shall excuse LifePointe Christian Church or its agents from responsibility to act with reasonable care for my safety or the safety of my property. I hereby release LifePointe Christian Church and its Agents from responsibility and liability for injury or illness that I may sustain during this activity. In the event of emergency, I hereby authorize an adult leader of this activity, as my agent to consent on my behalf to medical treatment. In this regard, I consent to allow said adult to authorize medical, dental or surgical diagnosis, X-ray examination, and treatment including surgery and hospital if needed and if advised and supervised by a licensed physician, surgeon, or dentist.

In the event of my death, I understand that the country I am in may not allow my body to be shipped home. I understand that there is always an element of risk involved in travel and participating in religious work in other countries.
